About the Project
We built a space where the Montessori method is visible not only in the program but in every interior detail. From the first second in reception, children and parents enter not “another kids’ club,” but a recognizable, warm environment shaped by little houses, the moon motif, and a softly integrated brand language.
Context
The owners of a Montessori center shared a familiar concern of thoughtful parents and educators: generic children’s interiors rarely support independence or reflect the values of the method. They needed a branded, emotionally warm, but fully functional interior that would reinforce Montessori principles, help children focus, and stay memorable from the first visit.
Object and Task
A 200 m² Montessori educational center in Creek Beach with an open plan. The program had to include reception, four classrooms, two bathrooms, and storage. The brand identity became the base of the concept, while the moon motif softened sharper forms and introduced a feeling of care and comfort.
Completed Works
Vastu-based planning with @ok_architetto. Reception shaped like little houses. Themed classrooms: Rain and Waves in blue with wave reliefs and round lights; Clouds/Foam in grey with cloud murals, magnetic boards, and projectors; sliding glass partitions with Montessori quotes. Bathrooms differentiated for children and adults, with lighting calibrated for a 3.7 m ceiling height. Key materials: Textured plaster for wave surfaces. Arcana Stracciatella terrazzo-look porcelain stoneware.
Result
The final interior supports Montessori in a quiet but tangible way. Rain and Waves and Clouds/Foam function as sensory tools rather than decorative themes, while light, texture, and circulation help children concentrate, move freely, and feel respected as participants in the process. Parents remember the center immediately as a place where real care has been designed into the space.
