About the Project
The house no longer looks like a generic catalogue interior. It feels like a tangible wheat field brought indoors: wheat shades, soft textures, and a repeating ear motif tie the whole space into one story.
Context
A family of four first asked for a calm Scandinavian interior in a greige palette. During the process it became clear that what truly resonated with them was the imagery of the Russian pastoral landscape and golden wheat fields. That insight became the concept “Wheat Ears,” allowing the interior to feel personal instead of generically Scandinavian.
Object and Task
A 230 m² country house with a calm greige Scandinavian spirit, reinterpreted through the concept of “Wheat Ears” and the family’s love for Russian wheat landscapes.
Completed Works
Creation of the “Wheat Ears” concept. Palette built around grey, white, and multiple wheat tones. Extensive use of natural materials and clean-lined forms. Wheat-pattern wallpaper in the hallway, repeated in textiles and bathroom tile. Pendant lights over the island recalling sheaves of grain. Unfinished timber on the bedroom wall and pale wood in the flooring, slats, and main dining table.
Result
The interior feels current but deeply familiar. Wheat tones, soft textures, and repeated motifs create a warm atmosphere where the family can slow down, look outside, and feel the Russian pastoral mood they love, without giving up the clarity of contemporary Scandinavian space.
